A funny thing happened on the way to the lake 22 years ago!

So there was a period in my past where I was what I thought, was "really" into mountain biking...not so much. I love riding, and have done so in the recent past. But not so much on trails and backwoods. Anyway, on to the lake I go with three of my really good friends to a local lake area that is known for great trails and great off road adventures. Spring break is here, we are packed and convoying east for a weekend of fun. One of us have a really horrible cold but soldiers on cause it promises to be a great time. Fast forward to the campsite, one of us is drugged on cold medicine, and the rest drunk on beer. The, the snow comes, light snow thats all an we decide to hit the tents to get some rest for our early morning jaunts. At this moment we realize one of our friends did not bring the tent heater, "why would we need it, it is spring break he says.... besides we are men, we can tough it out legitimate argument, I agree. All I remember s that at some point in the night I wake up completely frozen to the bone, so much so that I sneak out to sleep in my car, heater on full blast, I am a man, and a warm one at this point. Not long after this my manhood was re-established amongst the group when I was awoken to a knock at the door of my car. One of the other friends was begging to me in my warm bliss. I stretched out in the rear of the S-10, he in the front passenger seat...

By morning, we all traded in our manhood for a seat in a warm idling vehicle, 2 feet of snow and ice on the ground and high school kids screaming across the campground and chopping at a park tree...

what were they doing? one of them were chopping down a tree to build a fire to cook the goose, another kid was chasing around the campground with a very huge rock, no boulder. A rock so large he can almost not hold it up over his head as he walks fastly behind this honking creature tossing the rock at it.

Our trip was cut short due to weather, it ended up that these kids had come out to the lake to spend the entre week there over spring break, without any supplies, no tents, sleeping bags, FOOD. Nothing. We offered them what was left of ours, before we left.

We even gave a ride to one of them to a pay phone, to call for a ride. Yes, they had no car, he had to call his Dad to come get them early. One thing that didn't make sense to us, not that the hunting and gathering techniques and lack of supplies made absolutely no sense to us sure, but that he was so concerned with getting to a phone to call his Dad to come get him. As a parent, with surprise snow and ice overnight, wouldn't you just go get them...

Can ya dg it? I know you can and will!

Drive By

Is it always a race through traffic to get where you are ging for everyone? I feel like everytime we all leave the house, we are speeding towards the checkered flag!
Everyone Driving By one another just to cut them off...turning out into traffic because you can't wait another few seconds for me to get passed your intersection, then drive under the speed limit and obstruct traffic causing more people to drive out and around everyone else passing each other by...can I get a caution flag?

Dig it?! I know you can and I know you will

The Heat is on!

Here we are deep into the heat of summer. As usual, I am not having a love affair with the weather. You see 100 degrees and 300 pounds is not a good combonation...for any of us.

However, it is the pre-curser for the best time of year, Autum...Fall.NFL season, Holidays!!!

Keep cool, we will sweat our way out of the situation.

Dig it, I know you can and I knew you would

We need a holiday

Why d
o people feel it necessary to justify their actions with ridiculous reasons?? What's worse is then you have to pretend to accept their reasoning."oh it won't be that busy, it is the day before a holiday. Am I just suppose to say okay, everyone but us two can take off there won't be a bit of work to do. Guess what?? Surprise, it was busy! The organization may have been slower than usual, but when there is only two people to do the work of six people....guess what it busy for us two. Bastards, enjoy the Fucking holiday, scurry out of the building like rats on a sinking ship. I was called a cry baby this week, humorously by,a coworkers...nope just a realist! He didn't work today either. Don't misunderstand my point here, the point is, take off, let whoever you want off, just don't dress it it up all, nice and expect me to believe it, remember realist here. Just tel me to shut the duck up and get to work!

I'm out..have a great and safe rammed holiday!!

Did you find everything you needed?

Why can't you just pay for something anymore? Why all of a sudden are you required to give business you zip code, or do you have store credit card you would like to pay with? If not do you have a discount card, email acount, phone number, want to join our biethday club, reward points account..
How about this....just let me fuckin pay for what ever i 'was' interested in when i came hell in hear!!! JESUS, i come in, get what I want, I pay you and leave. The process is long enough when you get into the wrong line, or some idiot needs a price check, or some penny pincher has more coupons than items! I DO NOT NEED THE CASHIER CONTRIBUTING AS WELL. Ring it up and shut up!!!!

Cinderfella, Cinderfella, Every day its Cinderfella...

So i get a text message from my wife the yesterday, no big deal, I get several from her everyday. However this one had one of the most awesome photos attached to it. Standing in the middle of our living room was my son, dressed in evening wear! He had found my daughter's cinderella dress and had it one. Oh how I laughed, he had the biggest smile on his face, he was so proud of himself. I asked my Wife later how he cam to wear it? She told me not only had he been wearing the dress, but had the tiara on as well, he and my Daughter were out in the driveway running around, playing tag. My daughter even took time out to show him how to hold the dress up while he ran as not to fall, she is always so thoughtful! I have a wonderful family, they make me laugh and love them so much more everyday. I just hope they know that these situations could end up as yearbook photos or graduation photos. Oh yea! Sweet torture....

Whether he dates Cinderella, Snow White or....Prince Charming, it will be shown to his future significant others.

Amazing how things can change just like that. In the midst of a conversation, my boss is leaving is leaving the fourth. Whwre does that leave us? Opportunity knocking? Alas no, they have no plans to replace him. Still stuck, at the dead end, awaiting construction to develop a path...a path that I can continue upon! Still stuck, no path...no belief or faith that with very minimal training I could excel at the next level. Which way should I go?! I have no further path to travel here

Won't you be my Neighbor?

My house is located in a cul-de-sac, my backyard is adjacent to several other neighbors’ backyards and we all share a fence line. Everyone respects one another’s yards, we wave, make small talk. The usual neighborly exchanges. As you have guessed to this point, there is the exception! An older women, in her 60's who I have found constantly at my fence, well her fence too, but have found this bitch at my fence numerous times feeding my dogs, giving them treats, molesting them! Then has the nerve to call the older of the two dogs Barkley! Our older dogs, though the pain in the ass she may be, does tend to bark at people she does not know...hmmm strange lady at our fence ALL THE FUCKING time? Does that qualify? I think the ole og is justified. Then she has a daughter who is about my age who swings through a few times a week with her mutt, oh...the ole bag has since gotten a dog since we have been here, and let me tell you...it never shuts the hell up!!! EVER! So then I have both of them at my fence molesting our dogs, hanging their dogs over the fence for our dogs and theirs to get to know one another. Where's the neighborly etiquette with these two bitches?! All week long I have let my dogs out, they come to the fence start their bull shit and I have to bring them in. This has gone on for almost four years. So I know what your thinking, and for those of you who know me...you are thinking to yourself, he hasn't said anything to them yet?! Well, this past Thursday I did! I politely asked the Daughter, as she was the only one out, to please leave our dogs alone....we should not have to worry about letting our dogs out in our own backyard...blah blah blah. Now keep in mind, the daughter is my age or older, maybe forty? Now I stuck to the neighborly etiquette I and my other neighbors...who by the way have never even acknowledged my dogs, so graciously show one another and remained polite, thanked them for there interest in the dogs and walked away. This whore, tells me to go “Fuck myself”, looked at her dogs and said “let’s go inside, Dick here doesn't want us touching his dogs!" I apologized again for the inconvenience, and she stomps off up her deck and exclaims "I'm gonna go tell my Mom!" Really? WTF! Are we ten years old!! Fucking whores.

So, won't you be my neighbor?

Please!

More Dad Please

Funny thing happened in the back yard this evening with my kids and wife. I became more of a Dad. I was amazing my kids by kicking a ball high up into the air...then. Ball meet tree. Ball looses gets stuck in the tree. What is a Dad to do? So i becan throwing another smaller ball and a piece of wood into the tree(thanks Mark)to dislodge the ball. It was at this time I recall all the time I watched my Dad try to dislodge the ball, frisbee or whatever toy us kids had thrown into the tree...the circle of life! Amazing!

OH! The tree 1, me 0. The ball is still being held hostage high umongst the tree!

Good Job!

This is a continuation of a conversation I was having over the weekend...

When did we become a society that expects to be rewarded for doing what we are suppose to do? I paid my bills, I should be considered special and get something! I followed the rules to the some process, what do i get as a reward! Are we a society of dogs??? Expecting treats for doing what we should be doing! Fuck! Doing what society, or your parents or whatever expects you to do, does not equate to a reward....get over yourself and get the fuck on down the road. Good Job you did what you were expected to.

i sign this blog with one finger..you gues which one!

Stepping Stones...

You know all those moments in life that reqire you undivided attention, children, work, spouses, bosses, co-workers, you know those moments in your life that take time out of your day to do other things but what you really prefer to be doing?? Then, there are those times where you get to slip away form the usual drudge of your life and enjoy those stepping stones that get us through the drudge! The stepping stones that you can look forward to, to make the drudge seems less horrible, spas, shopping, riding, reading. Whatever it may be, the moment in your life that make all else bareable...for me it is the long awaited, anticipated release of the best video game I have played! Tomorrow and Wednesday I get to spend some time on one of my favorite stones...and just emerse myself in it and let the world melt away. Everything will still be there when i return, but it will be a little less dull and dreary!!!

Heres to stepping from one stone to the other!

Can you hear me?!

Why don't we listen to one another? Is it not the most aggrevating thing when you are consistently asked for the same information over and fucking over after you have answered over and over....and fucking over!! Why must somone use every line of communicaton available to them until it finally hits them in their block heads before you begin to realize, I think they might hear me? This isn't like tuning into a bad radio station as I previously bitched about...cause there is some level of innocence in that situation. I'm talking about the blaitant attempt to disregard what you are saying...much worse!

is any one listening?

HA!

The Dog and Pony Show

Why is it whenever the structure of our jobs change, the new circus rolls into town with their new ideas, which by the way were the new ideas at one point of their predecesors! What great ideas we are made to believe, one team is what we are, they say! Why must our first focus to change be to entertain the politics of such changes. Stroke some egos, theirs and ours by the way, have unecessary and unfocused conversatons about goals we will never obtain? I am all for change, I understand it is inevtable in all areas of our lives, but why must it be built up to a point of empty collaboration! You may need validation in your professional lives, I do not! I happen to think I conduct my duties well, I accepet the change in the areas of my job adapt to it. I don't like politic, I have never played politics...nor do I know how to.

Which way did they go?

Why do people in our lives, more than others, always are the first to tell you I can help, or you should have asked me! Why are these people always the last to actually help you, but are the first ones to ask you for help? Seems like a simple solution would be to tell them to fuck off, right?! Yet, most of these people are my superiors. Entertaining as it may be to see them squirm when making ridiculous decisions when they have no background to rely on. Whenver they need you, theres no place to hide, yet when you need them, they log off, close up there computers, lock their office leave the building and turn off all cell phones. A bit exaggerated but illustrates my point. It just reinforces the idea that shit will always rund to the lowest point, and no matter how hard you try to brush it out of your lap, you just end up with it all over your hands and legs. I am not sure at what point our superiors began needing more of our help to do their job then we need from them to do ours. Who is leading the pack and which direction is the pack going?

Two of a Kind

Here's a nice little fun topic, weird though. Paired items, you know like peanut butter and jelly, salt and pepper, ketchup and mustard. Why do some items get first billing while others only second billing? I have often debated this topic with friends...it stirs quite a conversation I must say.

Is one more important? Some of us may just like one, but does just one exist without the other? Shoes and socks, this is an interesting one, socks go on first but shoes get the first billing. For the women, bra and pantes...equal billing though for men..:)Think of all the other items out there we pair up in their use.

See what kinds of conversatons you can stir up with this wacky topic. What other items out there in the world are hoggig the spotlight while their mate is off in the shadows

Peace

Move Biaatchhh get out da Way!!!!!!!!

I love the people in your life who are the first to stand up and declare, I am the one who has the answers you seek!

WRONG! Once you hit them with what you want, oh, uh wait I am not really the person to be asking. I definitely want all of the credit, and I am awesome at what I do, really. But, I don't want to have to prove it!

Fucking Jokes!

Why does it only take one person to accept all the credit, but so many other(including the credit monger) to screw it all up! Why do some assign others to solve issues, and everything gets fucked up, and no one knows who, out of the plethora of hands, is the best person to go to DIRECTLY to help solve it....really?! Whether it be work, or a mechanic or grocery store..you know what FUCK IT! If you are the person people depend on to get them answers, get them the answers or point them in the right direction and get the Fuck out of their way. If you can't assist then get the fuck out of the way. If you are not part of of or willing to be part of the solution...fuck off!

I personally am not the kind of person who suffers fools...if you can't help me after you assured me you were the one, then overt your eyes and do not speak to me. You are of no use!!! Get it?

Peace out and Fuck Off!

I Am Therfore I am Entitled

Its your lucky day....I just saw a situation that sparked this blog.

Entitlement!

What is this?

Entitlement must be a new cats gig, because my entire premise for being, is based on getting what I get only because I earned it. Raises in the career place, respect from those around me, opportunities spawned from working hard! How is it that we have begun to see that people demand the things they want first, only because they simply believe they deserve it. Nothing done at this point to deserve it, and get upset when they don't get what they think they are entitled to. Or, worse yet those around these indviduals who perpetuate this idea in them! Was this instilled in them at birth? I have one of the strongest work ethics of anyone I know, it doesn't make me better than those around me, almost worse. I tend to feel guilty for taking any time off for myself, I work so hard, and so do my Friends and Family. I digress on the previous two statements as that is a topic I am sure i will get to in a later blog!

Just saying, with the decline of hard work and the rise of entitlement, so goes the intangible traits like character, dependability and ethics. Not to mention the tangible traits like production, results or goals. Come on people rewards are just that, rewards, only certain individuals are deserving of them, not entitled. To say I am entitled to something(fill in whatever that something may be) is almost an oxymoron.....right?

Keep Rollin'

Working for the weekend

Ever stop to wonder, how did we end up with a five day work week? Why not four or three? Who decided that the best time of the week, the weekend must be the shortest part of the week?

Why must work be the longest part of the week! Forcing us to use our vacation time to shorten the work week and lengthen our weekend...what a waste of vacation time. If we worked less we would have more vacation to use for other things rather than the five day work week!

I call for a revolution, a rising up of all ranks from the lowest of totem pole to the top of the ladder, we can all unite as this is a cause we can all believe in....I say we demand a shorter work week as we have neglected the weekend long enough. lets stop treating the weekend like the proverbial red headed step child!

Wow this one kinda got away form me, but I think I impressed myself!

Take it as you can get it!

Round and Round We Go

Ever find yourself in the unique positon to see how a situation is going to end?

Whether it be because you have been involved in so many similiar situaton before and know how they ended, or you know how it will end because you know the person making he decisions so well? Yet, those involved make you take unnecessary steps, steps you know that have do nothing but prolong the real ending, the ending you have seen come so many times before! Steps that only draw out the process for so many involved causing those involved to seek other avenues to arrive at the inevitable, even though you approach the situation with the intentions of arriving at the oh so typical end and yet, they still feel obligated to stick to the original decision! All the while you know when it is all said and done, when all the conversations are had, all the questions are answered and 8 people(6 more than needed) have been drawn into the situation and their time wasted, that what you originally had pitched in the first place will be revived and all will rejoice in the best decision they had ever heard.

ahhh...the strings that get pulled

Happy Monday!

Turn on and Tune in

Uh Oh, the pressure has risen, one follower so the expectations have increased. You will not be disappointed sir. Thank You.

Ever try explaining something to someone or been providing clarification on an issue and the entire time the person you are talking to is sooo obviously not getting it, you can tell they are almost there but not quite. It is like trying to tune into a bad radio station! Music...no wait static...twisting the Knob(do radios have knobs anymore) back and forth static music music static! The more you try to tune them in the more frustrating it becomes but, the more effort you put into it, throwing examples at them to illustrate the explanation, the more animated you become, static...music twist twist!!!

This situation describes a typical day in my professional life....any one else experience this? Does any one else understand? Am I making myself clear...or o I need to twist the Knob a bit more.

LOL..tune in next time

Leap Frog

Day two...no followers, but that fine. Patience

What a day, the morning commute to work, or leap frog as I call it. Where everyone in the right hand lane speed by you just to cut you off! An extra two seconds saved in their life, I wish my life was so important I had to save every second I could at any cost!

Spent the day, my concerns with it will come soon enough, remember patience. Cruised home to spend some time out in the driveway with chalk and the the futures most aspiring artist, my son. I call him Rabbit(he hops everywhere). Besides its cheap labor, you get a someone out to color your driveway and see how much it costs...

Anyways, my plans for the weekend were made this evening, no not my my wife! But by my garage door, spring broke..not spring break(I wish) but the tension spring broke. Soooo handy man to the rescue. r as it usually plays out, I screw it up worse and then we call in the professionals.

Done and Done!

The Good, Bad and Ugly

Hopefully my previous blog intrigued enough readers(if there is or will be any) to either, check out my blog from time to time to see what else I am spitting out or just to see what idiotic topics I am spewing. I will take either or.

I can say I am at a point in my life where I am ready to share the good, bad and ugly sides of life I have experience in my 30 some years. Life lessons, and the lack there of. Stories of work, friends, relationships and family. Sometime, although not identified as such, just thoughts and observations I have had throughout life, a personal perspective on issue that I am sure you have experienced.

Not sure how often I will post, some days more than others. My hope is, this will become an additional outlet of of communication for me, as I have come to the realization, some people are great in person, or good on paper, me? I am better via electronic communications.

Wish me Luck, Rock it Out!

Trade-Off

Ahhh...How times have changed!

I find myself in my later 30's and I was exercising a couple of days ago when I realized that this was my fourth workout that week.

You see, in my twenties, as I am sure most of you did, I spent most of my time in a different type of club! You know the ones, low lights, drinks and awkward advances.

Now, I spend the about the same amount of time in a different type of club, you know these as well, as mentioned previously, these are the ones that are over lit, almost as crowded and just as overpriced to frequent them.

If you are like me, the time spent at these clubs are strictly for loosing your twenties.

With this said, I often wonder why it is as we get older we trade one thing for another, very rarely is the latter better than the previous. Now I could list of some things to support this statement, however I think I will allow you to fill in these gaps!

Rock it out!
